Killer Mike & El-P - "R.A.P. Music"


Alright this album isn't out yet but I have it on pre-order anyways. I've been a big fan of Killer Mike since A.D.I.D.A.S. and his work with OutKast. In my opinion, he's one of the best southern rappers, and definitely one of the most underrated. I'm also big fan of El-P both as a producer and MC, though I believe he only provides vocals on one track on on this album, but no matter (see next album). These two are fairly separated in the underground world (or so I thought), and it's a real treat to see them making a full album together. It's an even bigger treat to see that they made vinyl pressings (Def Jux usually does). I rarely pre-order albums since I prefer to listen to it in its entirety first, but I made a rare exception on these two.

El-P - "Cancer for Cure"

El-P hasn't released a solo album since 2007's "I'll Sleep When You're Dead," and hopefully that's because this needed that much time. If it's anywhere near as good as ISWYD, which gets some heavy rotation on my turntable, then it's definitely worth the pre-order. For $85, you can get both, their instrumentals, and a poster. Not bad, in my opinion.
